Frequently Asked Questions

What are vivids?

Vivids are non-natural hair colors that are semi-permanent. There are many different techniques to use with this look.

How do I care for vivids at home?

It is recommended to wash your hair only once a week in cold water.

A hard water filter is recommended for your shower head. It filters out the minerals.

Hard minerals strip your color.

Turn down and limit the heat on your styling tools. Always use a heat protectant!

How long do they last?

This completely depends on how you take care of your hair at home. They can last from 6-8 weeks if cared for properly.

Darker vivid colors are less maintenance than light pastel colors.

What products should I use at home?

Olaplex is my absolute FAVE for shampoo & conditioner. It retails for 28$ per bottle at my salon.

Another recommendation is the Amika Dry Shampoo. It's very helpful because you don't need to wash your hair as often. It retails for 26$ each at my salon.

What is the cost of maintenance?

Perfect maintenance is about every 6 weeks.

What is considered a color correction?

A color correction is a service that's needed in case of bad color work or if you need a significant change to your current color.

How long will it take to reach my color goals?

Every head of hair lifts differently, so it is a case by case scenario. If you have box or permanent color on the hair, it will take more sessions to lighten your hair. Going from dark to blonde will have many different phases. However, we will find ways to rock each one.

What if my hair is too damaged?

If the hair is compromised or has old box color, I always do a test strand at consultation to see what the hair can handle first. I never attempt to push hair past it's limit.

How long will this take every session?

A color correction usually takes at least 4 hours, but it can differ depending on the situation. Fill out the digital consultation form button below!

What is Olaplex, and why do you use it?

Olaplex is like insurance for your hair. It is used to prevent breakage from intense chemical services.
